OUR PREFERED CHARITIES

POVERTY

Trócaire was established by the Bishops of Ireland in 1973 as a way for Irish people to donate to development and emergency relief overseas.Trócaire has brought humanitarian relief and assistance to people caught in some of the worst conflicts or hit by natural disasters across the globe. It has also established long-term development programmes in these regions and others affected by poverty, inequality and human rights violations.

FAMILY ENTERPRISE

Lendwithcare allows you to lend as little as £15 to fund a small business and once your money is repaid you can choose to recycle your loan to support another poor entrepreneur, or withdraw your money. Lendwithcare is currently working in ten countries. See how Lendwithcare works here.

EDUCATION

Think Global is an education charity helping people to understand – and then take action on – global issues.  We stand for a more just and sustainable world.  We believe that the more people understand global issues – such as food security, sustainability, epidemics – the more likely they are to take better decisions in their personal and professional lives.  People have the ingenuity and the humanity to solve the world’s problems, if they have the knowledge and understanding too.

 URBAN LIVING

Practical Action are helping to improve the standard of living in slums, sustainably; with the intention that future generations can have adequate access to basic infrastructure services such as electricity, water and sanitation, housing, or household waste collection.

YOUTH ENGAGEMENT

Development in Action (DiA) is a UK registered charity which exists to promote global citizenship by improving understanding and encouraging engagement in development issues amongst young people in the UK. For over 20 years DiA have connected young people in the UK with the issues affecting them and their fellow citizens around the world. We achieve this through our four programme areas in the UK and India:
