Crafting a presentation
The Sustainable Development Goals outline a blueprint for development priorities until 2030. They include 17 goals with 169 targets covering a broad range of sustainable development issues, from ending poverty and hunger to improving health and education, reducing inequality, and combating climate change.
Making meaning of our place with art
Long before language, human knowledge of relationships with other humans, their lands, the Earth and the starry bodies of the cosmos, were flint carved in stone and hand-printed in ochre, to share with others.
Sharing ideas and achievements
Fair ideas, a major conference jointly hosted by the IIED and Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC) in Rio de Janeiro on 16-17 June 2012, opened up a space for researchers and practitioners working for a greener, fairer world to add important knowledge, experience and momentum to the official summit.
If you are a teacher or student you can benefit from ICOL by using its portfolio of digital resources to build a personal body of knowledge and making your own contributions to the portfolio. Contributions must have been created with the free, web-based software office suite offered by Google within its Google Drive service and further knowledge about 2030 UN targets and their attainment. Examples of suitable topics are:
Links between schools, communities, to share ideas and achievements for living sustainably;
Cultural comparisons about what it means to be an environmentalist;
Local action plans for environmental improvements:
Expressions of the meaning of place through unique artistic creativity.
